Responsibilities:

  • Manage the registration of city business licenses and oversee all related permits, including permit pulling and submission reviews.
  • Conduct due diligence processes for vending permits, electrical fire life safety submittals, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with building, zoning, fire, electrical, and small business teams to ensure alignment with local and national codes and regulations.
  • Guide business owners, contractors, and vendors through the permitting process, ensuring compliance with life safety, electrical, and vending operations codes.
  • Review and process applications for permits, ensuring all required electrical and fire life safety submittals meet city and state compliance standards.
  • Coordinate inspections, approvals, and cross-department communication to resolve code compliance and permitting issues.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all permits, licenses, submittals, and stakeholder communications.
  • Stay informed on changes to local, state, and federal laws, building codes, fire safety, and business licensing regulations.
  • Provide clear, professional communication to stakeholders, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of queries and compliance matters.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in city permitting, business licensing, zoning, or a related regulatory field, with demonstrated knowledge of electrical, fire life safety systems, and vending compliance.
  • Strong understanding of permit pulling, electrical fire life safety submittals, and due diligence for vending operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of municipal, state, and federal laws related to business operations, building codes, safety regulations, and zoning laws.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with city departments and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail for managing complex regulatory processes.
  • Previous experience in government administration, building and safety, or similar roles is highly preferred.
