Roles and Responsibilities:
A Scrum Master is a facilitator and servant leader for a Scrum team. They are responsible for ensuring that the team follows the Scrum framework and processes, and for removing any obstacles that may impede the team’s progress.
A typical job description for a Scrum Master may include the following responsibilities:
- Facilitating Scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint review, and retrospective meetings
- Helping the team to understand and follow Scrum principles and practices
- Coaching the team and individuals on how to use Scrum effectively
- Acting as a liaison between the team and stakeholders to ensure that the team’s progress and needs are understood and addressed
- Identifying and removing obstacles that may impede the team’s progress, and helping the team to find solutions to any problems they may encounter
- Helping the team to improve their performance over time through continuous improvement
- Ensuring that the team is following the Scrum framework and adhering to the definition of done
- Supporting the Product Owner in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog
- Atlassian Jira Experience is Mandatory
- 1 to 2 Years as Scrum Master
The job requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of the Scrum framework and Agile principles. A Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org is commonly required or desired. Additionally, experience working with Scrum in a software development environment is a plus.
