Roles and Responsibilities:
With a high level of independence and minimum supervision, the Software Engineer – DataStage Technology Consultant will be responsible for the following job duties:
1. Develop DataStage Parallel Extender jobs using different stages like Aggregator, Join, Merge, Lookup, Source dataset, External Filter, Row generator, Column Generator, Change Capture, Copy, Funnel, Short, Peek stages, etc.
2. Development of new ETL/data transformation jobs, using PySpark and IBM DataStage in AWS.
3. Enhance and support existing ETL/data transformation jobs.
4. Perform technical code reviews for peers moving code into production.
5. Develop, Extract, Transform, and Load Logic that meets technical requirements.
6. Conduct performance testing and tuning.
7. Evaluate and make decisions regarding dataset implementation.
8. Drive continuous improvement and automation for BI solutions and processes.
9. Provide guidance to project teams on data compliance. 10. Mentor junior team members.
11. Serve as a point of escalation for project issues and communicates the status of projects to the leadership team.
12. Develop complex data extracts, applications, and ad-hoc queries.
13. Manage modelling, data transformation, and meta-data.
14. Perform and review integration testing before production migrations.
This position allows for telecommuting.
This position requires 30% travel to unanticipated client sites throughout U.S.
This position requires a U.S. bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in CE, CS, EE, or closely related field; and four (4) years of experience as a SW Engr/Consultnt, Tech/Programmr Analyst or closely related occupation.

Salary: $214,912 – $219,000 per year; Full Time
